. . . because nations can only be free and fair as long as their elections are free and fair.

For too long, Americans have taken voter integrity for granted. The idea that our way of electing leaders--while not perfect--was "good enough." But things changed after numerous close elections that were overturned after lengthy recount efforts and other elections brought charges of massive voter fraud.

The good news is that the United States already has laws that were enacted to protect the voting rights of all law-abiding citizens. While the U.S. Justice Department has been slow to some cases (like the New Black Panther Party), the laws were written to make sure all citizens can exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Of course, there is a catch to all those voter rights laws: We only get to keep our freedom as long as we are willing to work at maintaining it. We lose that freedom as soon as we take a passive attitude and decide that "somebody else can do the work."

Voter Integrity Project (VIP) is a non-partisan non-profit organization established to organize, train, and equip people who want to help make sure that our elections are fair and free, dedicated to protecting the rights of all lawfully registered voters. The only condition for Voter Integrity Project volunteers is that all must agree to support and defend the constitution of this great nation. The actual work that volunteers do will depend on their experience, talents, and interests.
